A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent email addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get email messages from partners or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
In case you have a Linux cloud hosting package with us and you wish to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific email mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally only a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in your account. You can select one address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature instantaneously, so all email messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all email address can be created with several mouse clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated package with our company. The hosting account will be managed via our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes using any domain hosted there. To enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox, you’ll have to click on the sign with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Deactivating this option can be achieved in the same fashion and will not require more than a click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a given domain, you will get a warning note. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never change or deactivate anything automatically.
